<li>Once the initial coat has been applied, try using your fingers to build up more layers of wax. This creates more heat, melting the wax and working it in to the leather more efficiently.</li>

Pro Tip: Concentrate the wax on the toe and heel, using lighter amounts on the vamp of the shoe. This will help to prevent cracking in the polish when moving your foot.

If required, use a darker wax polish around the sole of the shoe. An old toothbrush can be used to remove a build up of wax on any stitching.

How to Clean Leather Shoes or Boots

You have invested in a new pair of shoes and of course you want them to look box fresh for as long as possible. Therefore to help maintain the appearance and to prolong the life of your Base London shoes we strongly recommend the following shoe care:

<li>Regular use of ScotchguardTM Protector spray will help to guard against staining and water penetration. (NB. Important. Please note - a protector spray will not make the shoes waterproof.)</li>

<li>Try to avoid wearing leather shoes in wet/rain weather, as this may damage the condition &amp; look of the shoes. If your shoes do get wet, they should always be left to dry naturally. Never by artificial heat.&#xA0;</li>
</ul>

<li>The use of a shoehorn will prevent damage to the backs of your shoes. The use of shoetrees will maintain the shape of your shoes when not being worn.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To prolong the life of your shoes, it is advisable to alternate wear between two pairs of shoes.</li>

Nubuck leather &amp; Suede leather uppers
Due to the fine nap of this leather, extra care should be taken when cleaning. Gentle use of a suede brush with a nubuck/suede cleaner will remove most stains.&#xA0;Please note - nubuck and suede leather cannot be entirely colourfast.
&#xA0;
Leather Uppers
Leather shoes need regular cleaning and care with wax polishes (or shoe creams). Select the closest colour to your shoes - if in doubt use a natural shade. Before cleaning ensure the shoes are dry and remove all surface mud and dust with a damp cloth. Bare in mind, if your shoe is a Hi Shine Leather shoe, this will only require cleaning with a lightly dampened towel/rag and then treated with a wax cream of the same colour as the shoe.&#xA0;
&#xA0;
Leather Soles
Leather soles are a natural product which offer you, the wearer, a breathable, flexible sole. Because of its porous nature, a leather sole will let in water. For this reason we do not recommend that they are suitable for excessive outdoor use &amp; in wet weather. After a period of time the soles will wear away, even under normal conditions, making it necessary for the sole to be repaired. &#xA0;

Nubuck cuir et suede daim dessus en cuir
La finesse du grain de cette peausserie n&#xE9;cessite un entretien particulier. Une utilisation l&#xE9;g&#xE8;re d&#x2019;une brosse &#xE0; Daim avec un nettoyant sp&#xE9;cial Nubuck/daim doit pouvoir &#xE9;liminer la plus part des taches. Veuillez noter qu&#x2019;il est impossible d&#x2019;&#xE9;viter la d&#xE9;coloration du Daim et du Nubuck.&#xA0;
Dessus Cuir
Les chaussures cuirs doivent &#xEA;tre r&#xE9;guli&#xE8;rement nettoy&#xE9;es et cir&#xE9;es. Utilisez un cirage d&#x2019;une couleur la plus proche de vos chaussures. Dans le doute, utiliser un cirage incolore. Avant de cirer vos chaussures, veuillez-vous assurer que vos chaussures sont s&#xE8;ches et que vous avez enlev&#xE9; les salet&#xE9;s et poussi&#xE8;res de surface avec un chiffon l&#xE9;g&#xE8;rement humidifi&#xE9;.
Semelles En Cuir&#xA0;
Semelles en cuir sont un produit naturel qui vous offrent , le porteur , une semelle souple respirant . En raison de sa nature poreuse , une semelle en cuir laissera dans l&apos;eau. Pour cette raison, nous ne recommandons pas qu&apos;ils sont adapt&#xE9;s pour une utilisation ext&#xE9;rieure excessive . Apr&#xE8;s une p&#xE9;riode de temps, les semelles porteront loin , m&#xEA;me dans des conditions normales , ce qui rend n&#xE9;cessaire le seul &#xE0; &#xEA;tre r&#xE9;par&#xE9;. &#xA0;
